Getting ready

10 days until we leave Kamloops. I have gotten all the shots that I need and now I am starting to think about packing. I am going on this trip with Developing World Connections. It is an organization based in Kamloops which provides service trips to third world countries. I am going on this trip with my mom, dad and nineteen other people from B.C. My friend Stephanie and her parents are also coming on this trip. It will be a very long plain trip to Sri Lanka (about 21 hours). We will be stopping in Singapore for 7 hours on the way there. We will be staying in cabanas while we are in Sri Lanka. Tangalle is the name of the town were we are going to be helping with building homes and schools. My mom and dad went to Sri Lanka last year to rebuild homes that were destroyed in the tsunami. When they got back they said that they want to take me on the next trip to Sri Lanka. I have been looking forward to this trip for over a year and have been earning my own money for part of the trip. I am looking forward to missing 2 weeks of school. I am not looking forward to doing a lot of homework on my free time there.
