January 21st and 22nd

Yesterday we went back to the job sight and tried to pour concrete. From the morning till lunch we couldn't pour because the cement mixer was on the fritz. After lunch it started to rain. It got harder and harder. I have never seen rain like that before. It felt nice because we were so hot and sweaty. Most of us were soaked when we got home. Some people left early and some people worked till 5pm and got quarter of the footings poured.
Today was Poya day which is a holiday because of the full moon. We did not have to work today. In the morning we left to go play sports with the Australians and Sri Lankins. First they played Cricket which I do not undersand at all so it was hard to get the gist of the game. After a game of cricket people played a game of football (soccer). It was kind of weird seeing most of the Sri Lankins playing in bare feet. I tried it and it hurts. After all the sports, we decided to go home and swim in the ocean. Some of the Austrailians are going snorkling after lunch. I might just lie around on the beach. Well I got to go and eat lunch. Talk to you soon, Raija

Hey Raija,

From the pictures it looks like you all are getting lots accomplished. Starting to get colder here as it warms up there, it was -6 here before 8am. Uncle Jeff and Papa took Ethan, Danika and Noah skiing and snowboarding on Saturday (19th) and Noah's says they had lots of fun so don't feel too bad about leaving them behind in the cold Kamloops weather ;) I can't wait to see all the pictures of everyone when you get back. Connor says hey.
Say hi to your Mom and Dad and Travie Also to Jen Stel and Stephanie.

Cheers
Auntie Char

Hi Raija! The count down has begun! I got an update from George today, "Four more days until they're home Mrs. E.!" You have done a tremendous job on the blog! A super way to journal!. I have enjoyed the pictures too! It is FREEZING here! I was on duty at recess today and it was -15. Most students were inside! But there are always the boys who want to go out and freeze! (Does that mean girls have more sense? No comment!) So, enjoy the warm weather for a few more days. Love to everyone! Thanks for all that you are doing for the people of Sri Lanka! They must love you all so much!
See you soon, Mrs. E.
